Got a Poppy After All

There it is!

Well, if a bunch of these got near the window, Wolley would be sooo....well I guess, hungry, in a cat sort of way.

What, another Full Moon in June. I think I'll write a song.

Not an Aspen Stump

Somehow this stump seemed irrelevant a couple of months ago.
I couldn't see under the deck then. I jammed my hand and camera in to do a little recon.

Now that I pulled up the rotten crap that was that deck, the stump has become real to me.

The stump has rotten qualities around the edges. The large substantial part of the stump is in my way.
I have made a few chainsaw cuts into it, but it will require more.
In the old days I could have thrown an old tire over it, poured in 10 lbs of charcoal, fired that up with a half gallon of gas and a few days later be done with it. Nowadays, I guess folks hate that black haze and rubbery smell.

OPC (Other People's Crap)

I wouldn't mind getting cool stuff from the side of the road, but as cool as this is, I don't know what it is (other than a large plastic strawberry) or what to do with it.
So, I guess I'll pass.

Seen Some Other People's Stuff

If I made one of these, Wolley would want it pointed toward the house window.

This Blog has some good news and views.

The rental house next door is vacant. I wandered around and found that it has a name. (Well, a sign) All houses had names before the fire department started forgetting them and lobbied for numbers.

I guess historically, my place was the 'BlaBlaBla cabins and Stuff'.
I've thought about it, and of course I need an available domain name. What with the drought and now the crap that is killing the trees, and all that John Denver love using up the good aspen names, I may have to settle for ... aspenstump.com.

More Extra Credit

This one's not DIY.
I vote for for the first one.

Meet the Neighbors

This prairie dog lives so close to the road he gets his lawn mowed.

Some of the far away ones are coming out now.
Stopping the truck sent them all in for a while.

This is where the king lives.
I'll sneak up and get a shot of him one day.

This Weekend

I'm breaking out of the cab schedule.
Breakfast alfresco.
I'll need some sugar and caffeine to counteract all the butter in those grits and eggs, so I can stay awake past noon.

The long spurs keep the goodies way back, so only certain hummingbirds and moths keep those chromosomes rocking though the neighborhood.

These things are so tall and easy to grow, they must be weeds.

Kudos to at&t for the Bonneroo webcasts this weekend. I almost wished I was young enough to be there. Got to get young again. I hope butter and caffeine help.

What If

So, what if you had a bowling ball,
a broken mirror,
some glue,
a little time and
a place to put it,
would you do this?

I'd like to think I would.

This is 'cool'. Read it for extra credit.

I won't be harvesting any poppies this year,
but some neighbors will.

Update!!!
Wolley thinks the snacks birds live here now.
How very convenient.

This is Not a Cat Blog

My camera doesn't take pics this good. And I don't live in SLC. But I love those clouds.

My camera would get this shot if I were on MIR.

So, about the cat.

There are several little snacks birds in this tree.

Wolley lets me hand feed him so he can snork up the tender parts of the grass.
You can hardly see my new 'carpenter thumb'.
Feels OK too. But it was real the other day.

But, if he has too, he'll help himself.

Pikes Peak North Face.
Nice neighborhood. Some houses get the view.
Everybody gets the view driving in or walking the dogs.

TimO wants a gate on his deck.
Dub is lobbying hard against the gate.

Gail's yellow columbines are tall and blooming profusely.

I got some leftovers from her garage sale including a couple of red bar stools.
Can you say 'breakfast alfresco'?
Well, if it stays gets warm in the AM.

A couple of Guest Shots from TimO.
The scenery of his work day.

Oops, what is happening?

A scene of downtown from my commute.

The usual weekly crop.

I finally got some new flowers out.

To be honest, the tulips bloomed, but the traitors were yellow.
I was not impressed.

A little hail, a lotta rain.

Let's build it from the ground up next time.

I hate not seeing crap like this, 'cuz....

...then I get crap like this. Been a long time in the truck. Not like, a lot, like in the cab.
I think, like, I've been, like, in the cab again. Those kids.

You can get a lot with a view like this for, like, less than $300k.

Lots of gardens in bloom. Well it's, like, spring.

This guy like, likes the same rusty stuff that I, like, like.
